Standlake Common / Pit 60
ReedbedGravel pit & lake
Pit 60 provides some of the best hide-based birding in the county. Shallow margins and islands attract waders, including Lapwing, Redshank, Little Ringed Plover and occasional Greenshank. Winter sees strong wildfowl diversity, while surrounding scrub holds warblers and finches.
The hide's position allows prolonged, comfortable scanning, making it popular with patch birders.
