Sites - Merton Borrow Pit

Close to Otmoor, Merton Pit provides valuable supplementary wetland habitat. Winter ducks include Gadwall, Pochard and Shoveler, while summer brings warblers and occasional Hirundines feeding over the water. Green Sandpiper and Snipe appear regularly during drawdown periods.

The site is particularly useful as an add-on for Otmoor birders, as many species move freely between the two locations.
