Sites - Lye Valley (SSSI)

Lye Valley is a unique urban fen with rare wetland flora. The narrow valley supports Grey Wagtail, Moorhen, Reed Bunting and summer warblers, with surrounding scrub attracting mixed tit flocks and finches. Autumn often brings Redpoll and Siskin into the birch and alder.

Its proximity to the city makes it accessible for short but rewarding visits.
