Cothill Fen / Lashford Lane Fen
Wet woodland & willow carrFen
Cothill Fen is an internationally important calcareous wetland, containing a rare assemblage of fen plants and invertebrates that support a specialised bird community. Snipe and Water Rail occur regularly, with warblers along the fen margins in summer. The adjoining wet woodland provides habitat for Marsh Tit and Treecreeper.
The fen is highly sensitive; managed footpaths provide valuable viewing opportunities across this unique habitat.
